Professional Strengths
Shannon Starley is passionate about guiding individuals, families, and co-parents through the challenges that arise in relationships and the journey of raising children. With nearly two decades of experience in the social work field, Shannon has dedicated her career to supporting both adults and minors facing a wide range of mental health issues, including depression, anxiety, family conflict, substance abuse, and involvement in the criminal justice system. Drawing from both her personal journey and professional background, Shannon offers thoughtful insight and helps her clients move toward peace, compromise, and healing. She is a strong advocate for self-determination and enjoys empowering individuals—young and old—to discover their own unique path.
Experience and Education
Shannon is AFCC-trained and experienced in helping clients navigate the complexities of the court system, always with a focus on the overall well-being of the family unit. Her decision to become a therapist was fueled by a deep desire to help others find peace and happiness, however that may look for them. She welcomes the opportunity to work with individuals and families seeking to find their voice, build stability, and cultivate hope for the future.
Shannon has extensive experience working with individuals affected by domestic violence, substance abuse, postpartum depression, and child welfare involvement. A significant portion of her career has focused on supporting children and teenagers navigating mental health challenges, familial conflict, and high-risk behaviors.
Shannon earned her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a Master’s in Social Work from the University of Utah. Outside of her professional life, she enjoys baking, watching horror movies, and celebrating holidays with enthusiasm.
