Reaching out for therapy can feel overwhelming. Families are often navigating stress, uncertainty, or conflict when they make that first call. At Unified Family Therapy, our goal is to reduce stress. We currently have a no waitlist for individuals or families seeking services. Early intervention can make a meaningful difference, particularly during family transitions, periods of high conflict, or when children are struggling emotionally.
Therapists at Unified Family Therapy are trauma-informed. This means we understand how stress, conflict, and past experiences affect both behavior and emotional wellbeing. We approach individuals and families with sensitivity to nervous system responses, attachment patterns, and the ways unresolved experiences can shape present-day relationships.
Being trauma-informed means we focus on emotional safety, regulation, resilience, and skill-building. For children, this approach is essential. We recognize that children often express distress through behavior rather than words. Our therapists are trained to respond with curiosity, structure, and compassion, helping children feel safe while empowering them with tools for stability and emotional expression.
We provide child-focused care and offer services for children, teens, parents, couples, and entire family systems. When one member of a family is struggling, the impact is rarely isolated. Our approach recognizes patterns of interaction and communication that may contribute to conflict or emotional distress, and we work collaboratively to create healthier dynamics.
In addition to individual and family therapy, we offer therapeutic groups for children, adolescents, and parents. Children’s groups focus on social skills, emotional regulation, and peer interaction in a supportive, structured environment. Teen groups provide space to explore identity, mood management, and communication challenges while building healthy coping strategies. Parent groups offer education, skill development, and connection with others facing similar challenges. Group work fosters community, reduces isolation, and reinforces that families are not alone in their experiences.
Unified Family Therapy is informed by the principles of the Association of Family and Conciliation Courts (AFCC). This equips us to effectively support families navigating divorce, co-parenting challenges, and court-involved dynamics. We understand the complexity of high-conflict situations and the emotional toll they can take on children and parents alike.
Our work is collaborative. When appropriate and with proper consent, we coordinate with the guardian ad litem, attorneys, mediators, custody evaluators, parenting coordinators, schools, and medical providers. This coordination reduces fragmentation of care and helps keep children out of the middle of adult conflict whenever possible. Our focus remains on protecting the emotional wellbeing of children while supporting healthier communication and problem-solving for the entire family.
Internally, our therapists meet weekly for consultation and case collaboration. This team-based approach ensures that clients benefit not just from one clinician’s perspective, but from a thoughtful, ethically grounded professional network. These meetings allow us to share insights, review best practices, and maintain accountability to high clinical standards. This model strengthens our work, particularly in cases involving trauma, high conflict, or court systems. It also reflects our belief that therapy is most effective when clinicians themselves are supported, reflective, and continually learning.
As a community-based agency, we value connection beyond the therapy office. Therapy does not happen in isolation. Families exist within neighborhoods, schools, faith communities, and social networks. Understanding and supporting those connections strengthens outcomes and reinforces a sense of belonging.
At Unified Family Therapy, we recognize that seeking help requires courage. Families often come to us during some of their most vulnerable moments. Our role is to provide steadiness, structure, and compassion during times that may feel uncertain or overwhelming. Healing is not about perfection, it is about learning new ways to communicate, regulate emotions, and navigate challenges together.
Unified Family Therapy strives to provide families with clarity, stability, and hope for the future. When families feel supported, children thrive. And when children thrive, families and communities grow stronger together.
